Voices Shared at Our Poetry Slam

Last month, our community gathered for our very first Poetry Slam and open mic on April 30th, an evening filled with powerful voices and connection. Listener Poets and community members shared original work spanning a breadth of experience. The event, Poems for Our Now, provided an informal learning environment for Listener Poets and CLP course alumni to practice the art of performance poetry – poetry designed to be performed orally, as opposed to read on the page/screen.  We’re grateful to everyone who joined us, listened, and contributed to a memorable gathering. A special thank you to the Listener Poets who performed and shared their work throughout the evening:

Events like this continue to remind us how meaningful it is to gather as a community around poetry and listening. We look forward to hosting more readings and creative gatherings in the months ahead.
