TGLP at the KNN Conference: Poetry, Reflection, and Connection & Introducing Our Newest Anthology

The Good Listening Project was honored to once again take part in the annual KNN conference in Minneapolis this year.

At the opening member reception, we invited attendees into a mandala poem practice – a chance to pause, listen inwardly, and write in response to a prompt of their choice. We also shared copies of our newly published KNN Anthology: Stories of Residents & Fellows, which was available to all participants.

Later in the conference, TGLP Executive Director Jenny Hegland co-hosted a roundtable with our partners Sarah Ozurumba and Joelle Worm, who lead the KNN Learner Network. Together with resident and fellow participants, they reflected on their experiences with The Good Listening Project and the importance of having dedicated space to process, connect, and grow in community.

A highlight of the evening came when Natalia Cardona, one of our poemee participants, read aloud “One Human Body” by Yvette Perry to a full audience of conference attendees. Jenny closed the session by writing a harvest poem that captured the voices and sentiments shared.

We are deeply grateful to the KNN for our ongoing partnership and for the opportunity to support learners in graduate medical education as they make sense of their experiences through poetry.
