Certified Listener Poet,
Cohort 15 Summer 2026
Tanya Hughes is an Integrative Holistic Practitioner and artist dwelling at the intersection of somatics, herbal & aromatic medicines and end of life support. She is a licensed massage therapist, NEDA certified Death Doula, Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Herbalist/Aromatherapist and Breathworker. Her work and approach are informed by traditional and esoteric studies in the fields of body, psyche, plants, alchemy, authentic relating and thanatology.
Tanya believes poetry is, also, a kind of medicine. A thoughtfully chosen series of words can offer a sense of belonging, care, witness, perspective and fuel to inhabit our lives more authentically and unapologetically. She utilizes the Listener Poet process as a pathway to uplift our inherent worth, to reflect and affirm threads of soul that are often untouched and unnamed and to deepen our interconnected human experience.
She lives in Oregon on the east side of the Cascade Mountain range and can be found ogling rivers and hot springs or rambling through the high deserts of juniper and sagebrush. Learn more here.
