We are thrilled to highlight Rebecca Wilson, Certified Listener Poet Cohort 11, who recently served as the emcee and a keynote speaker at The Next Level Private Practice Summit in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
About the Event
Through her keynote Not Just Telling Stories: The Healing Power of Speaking Our Pain, Rebecca spoke to her experience with depression; vulnerably sharing how a gifted therapist made soft brave space for storytelling, while listening in a way that led to healing. She inspired and challenged the audience to continue their transformative work of making space for stories.
Rebecca also hosted an exhibit table, where she sold and signed copies of her first book of poetry Unraveling: Coming Out and Back Together and promoted The Good Listening Project.
A special moment for Rebecca was meeting the six poemees she held sessions with as part of her TGLP practicum in person. One poemee—a full-time therapist—said, “it’s not often someone genuinely wants to listen to me.”
