Listening Between the Lines: Keynote Address by Listener Poet Elizabeth Torres

This month, we’re excited to highlight Elizabeth Torres – also known as Madam Neverstop – who recently gave the keynote Listening Between the Lines: Poetry as Pathways for Healing, Empathy, and Social Change at the 2025 Creative Bridges Conference, hosted by Lapidus International.

Elizabeth is a poet, multimedia artist, translator, and Listener Poet with The Good Listening Project. Her talk explored how poetry can become both a personal and political act, fostering resilience, empathy, and cross-cultural dialogue in a world that often feels divided.

Drawing from her work with The Good Listening Project and her innovative Poetic Consultations, Elizabeth emphasized the role of deep listening as a practice of connection and compassion. She showed how pairing attentive listening with creative expression can humanize healthcare, empower underrepresented voices, and spark social change. We invite you to experience her inspiring keynote and reflect on the ways listening and poetry can help build bridges across difference.
