On April 15, the pastoral ministries team at Brooksby Village Senior Living in Peabody, Massachusetts, gathered with The Good Listening Project Executive Director Jenny Hegland for our “Listen Like a Poet” workshop. Current Certified Listener Poet Cohort 14 student, Sue Remick, and her team are deeply committed to bringing creativity, compassion, and presence into their ministry at Brooksby.
Together, participants practiced the art of listening like a poet and engaged in a mandala poem exercise, crafting six-word poems to share with one another. The gathering was a meaningful reflection of how creativity and deep listening can strengthen connection and care within community—and how essential these practices are today.
