Caregiver Haven

As the demands of caregiving continue to grow across our country, our team at Good Listening Project continues to receive more requests to support informal caregivers with our innovative healing arts programs. Caregiver Haven is our response, and we need your help to make it possible.

In 2025, TGLP will launch Caregiver Haven, providing innovative emotional support through creative engagement with listening, poetry, and a supportive community.

Storylistening for Humanizing Healthcare

Give the Gift of Listening

We are so grateful to be able to provide innovative emotional support projects serving healthcare communities.

Passionate and dedicated donors have funded many of these projects, creating a platform to share stories of equitable access & care, holistic & compassionate health, and flourishing for all.

Thank you for considering becoming a donor this year!

Thank you!

We are so grateful to all of our donors, supporters, and event sponsors. We wouldn’t be having anywhere near as much impact without your support.

As a thank you, we are excited to present a “Poem for Our Future,” which is a curation of our community’s shared hopes for the future of healthcare. Enjoy!

Why We Listen

I really appreciated your deep heartfelt listening. I rarely feel that heard. The poem is such a vivid reminder of that interaction.
— Cardiac Nurse

I thought it was very valuable to have a space that gave me the chance to think and talk about something that really mattered to me.

I ended up talking about something that has been on my mind for months. Something I haven’t been able to verbalize, or haven’t allowed myself to give words to before.
— Healthcare Staff

I’m 50, and that was the first time I’ve ever felt heard.
— Healthcare Staff

You are such a fine listener, and I am taken aback by your careful recollections of what I said to you.

You truly captured the essence of my grief and the events that tumbled in and became a part of it, too. Your poem is tender and a comfort.
— Patient

 The Kent Wosepka Innovation Fund

Kent Wosepka had an enormous creative and financial impact on The Good Listening Project (TGLP) before his passing in 2021.

A talented artist himself, he became enthralled by our mission after making a pilgrimage to the art- and community-focused Burning Man in 2018 and connecting with our executive director, a family friend. Frankie had also attended the event and was returning home with the inspiration to found TGLP.

Kent became our very first board member, treasurer, mentor, and biggest cheerleader. He was  also our most generous individual donor to date.

One person really can make a lasting difference. Kent had been a banker, but he was so much more; he imbued his humanizing spirit of warmth and friendly enthusiasm throughout our organization. We are grateful to Kent for how he helped us become the strong, effective force for wellbeing that we are today.

We’re writing to invite you to help establish a memorial fund in Kent’s honor.

Every year since our founding, Kent donated to support our work. His annual donations impacted nearly all of our early innovation, including early experimentation with our small group Brave Conversations sessions, as well as our popular Certified Listener Poets course. These innovative investments produced what have now become our core programming.

“I listen for a living as a therapist, and I was surprised by the power of the listening and seeing what I said reflected back to me.”
— Brave Conversation Participant, 2022

Growth goes hand in hand with exploration. Kent’s belief in TGLP allowed us to add new members to our team even before we had regular programming revenues to fund them. That trust in TGLP’s vision brought us a world-class, cohesive team, which has only gotten stronger over the years.

TGLP is an innovative nonprofit operating at the intersection of compassionate presence and poetry. We listen to nurses, doctors, social workers, and others on the front lines of the healthcare world, then write poems for them and facilitate their connecting conversations with each other.

As a 501(c)(3), we rely on the generosity of people like Kent, who share our passionate belief that good listening is healing

This year, in Kent’s honor, we’re launching the Kent Wosepka Innovation Fund to help continue his legacy. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by February 28th (the birthday Kent shared with TGLP’s executive director, Frankie). Your support towards this fund gives hope for healthier, more sustainable healthcare systems everywhere.

We hope you’ll consider joining us with an annual donation below.
