Anne Marie Wells, Certified Listener Poet, Teaches Workshop on "After" Poetry
Certified Listener Poet Cohort 9 alum, Anne Marie Wells, will be facilitating How Not to Steal When Borrowing: Writing an "After" Poem on Sun, Nov 15, 3pm - 5pm PST.
About the workshop:
We can't help but find inspiration from the work of our poetic relatives and ancestors, but some pieces forge larger inspiration than others. Let's explore the "After" poems of modern poets including Chen Chen, Rudy Francisco, Ocean Vuong, Sarah J. Sloat, Billy Collins, Terrance Hayes and others to learn strategies of our own of paying homage without plagiarizing.
Registrants will receive a poem packet of all the examples and have time to try out what they learned. Bring a poem written by someone else that you love for the writing portion of the workshop.
Registration is sliding scale starting at $1. Register at AnneMarieWellsWriter.com/links or through the link in Anne Marie's Instagram bio @AnneMarieWellsWriter
